Mayor Avila’s Priorities

  • Green industrial water pipes with pressure gauges on a concrete surface, with a man in a green shirt reviewing documents in the background.

    Infrastructure

We need to get the resources - whether it’s funding, manpower, or otherwise - to fix and upgrade our infrastructure. Our recent hurricane experiences demonstrated we have our work cut out for us.

  • Site plan of a residential property showing a central residence, two detached garages, and accessory structures. The property is enclosed by property lines, with public street access on the left and an alley on the right. The front yard is labeled, with trees, and parking areas are shown with cars parked on the driveway and street.

Update and Modernize our Land Development Code

We need to take a hard look at our land development code and update it. We need to make sure it’s putting #Deltona1st !

  • Outdoor shopping mall with stores, walkways, benches, trees, and people walking and sitting on benches.

    Downtown Deltona Framework

It all begins with an idea. I want to lay the groundwork for our ‘Downtown Deltona’. With help from Residents and their input, we will bring the much-needed restaurants and quality, high-paying jobs to our city.

  • Interior of a modern children's medical facility with colorful walls, a welcome sign, a reception desk, seating area, and two people walking on an upper balcony.

    Children's Hospital

One of my goals is to bring a Children’s Hospital to Deltona. Our children are the future and deserve top-notch care that’s close to home.

  • Empty indoor basketball court with a polished wooden floor, basketball hoops, and blue accents.

    State-of-the-Art Recreational Facility

Improve and upgrade our recreational facilities and Parks. I want to identify grant funding in order to open a state-of-the-art Recreational Facility for youth sports. Kids shouldn’t be turned away from the basketball league, and our staff need adequate facilities in which to work and plan activities.

  • City of Deltona nature-themed signage board showing maps, gateways, event signage, streetscape amenities, and a date of December 1, 2007.

Rebranding Deltona: A Vision for Unity and Identity

As Mayor of Deltona, one of my key priorities is to rebrand our city in a way that reflects its true identity and fosters a sense of unity among residents and stakeholders. This initiative involves a comprehensive approach to redefining how we present and position Deltona to the world.
