The Story Behind the Official Mayor's Seal
Every element of my Official Mayor's Seal was intentionally chosen to reflect the history, identity, values, and future of our community. Together, these symbols tell the story of Deltona and the commitment I have made to serve its residents.
The Florida Scrub Jay
At the center of the seal stands the Florida Scrub Jay, one of the most recognizable symbols of Deltona. As a designated Bird City, the Scrub Jay represents our unique natural heritage and the pride we take in preserving it.
The Scrub Jay is depicted looking forward, symbolizing vision, progress, and optimism for the future. It serves as a reminder that Deltona is not simply a city with a proud past, but a community preparing for an even brighter tomorrow. The bird's forward gaze reflects our aspiration to become a true City of Destiny, always looking ahead to new opportunities for our residents and future generations.
The Four Stars
The four stars on the seal represent each Mayor who has had the honor of serving the City of Deltona since its incorporation.
They stand as a tribute to the leadership, service, and dedication that have helped shape our city throughout its history. While each administration has brought its own vision and priorities, all have shared a common goal: to serve the people of Deltona and help our community grow stronger.
The Inner Gold Circle
The gold circle surrounding the center of the seal symbolizes Deltona's extensive trail system and our commitment to healthy living.
The circle serves as a reminder that our trails connect neighborhoods, parks, and natural spaces while encouraging residents to stay active and engaged with the outdoors. It reflects the belief that a healthy community is built through recreation, wellness, and opportunities for residents to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds them.
The Outer Navy Circle
The navy blue outer ring pays tribute to Deltona's roots as "Deltona Lakes."
The color represents the lakes that have long defined our community's character and natural beauty. These waterways helped shape Deltona's identity and remain an important part of who we are today. The circle itself symbolizes unity, reminding us that despite our diverse backgrounds, we are one community working together toward a common future.
The Mayor's Signature
At the base of the seal is my personal signature.
More than a name, it represents a promise and a commitment to the residents of Deltona. It serves as a daily reminder that leadership is built on accountability, integrity, and service. My signature symbolizes my pledge to work hard every day on behalf of our community, to listen to residents, and to always place Deltona first.
#Deltona1st
Prominently displayed on the seal, #Deltona1st is more than a slogan.
It is a guiding principle that reflects the belief that every decision, policy, and initiative should be made with the best interests of Deltona and its residents at heart. It embodies a commitment to putting our community first, strengthening neighborhoods, supporting families, and building a brighter future for generations to come.
A Symbol of Service
Together, these elements form more than a seal. They tell the story of a community rooted in its natural beauty, proud of its history, committed to its residents, and confident in its future.
It is a symbol of Deltona's journey, our shared values, and our collective vision as a City of Destiny. 🇺🇸
AMERICA250 COMMEMORATIVE DESIGN
As we prepare to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary of Independence, I am proud to unveil an updated version of my Official Mayor’s logo in honor of this historic milestone in our nation’s journey as sovereign and independent states. 🇺🇸
In addition, I have also updated my Official Mayor’s website (this website) and all Official Mayor social media platforms to reflect this special tribute to America250 and the spirit of patriotism that unites our nation. I will proudly be using this commemorative design through the end of the year as we celebrate this once in a generation milestone in American history.
“What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.” — Thomas Paine
As Mayor of the Deltona and as Americans, let us continue working together to preserve the freedoms, opportunities, and values that generations before us fought so hard to secure.
